Setup & Onboarding
We provision your Nextcloud, email, Bitwarden, Linkding, Mattermost, Gitea, Immich, and Minecraft Server accounts. You receive welcome info and Mattermost invite.
Join the Community
Access Mattermost for support, discussions, and voting on features and donations. This is your digital village.
Ongoing Support
Get personal support from your sysadmin. Updates, backups, and monitoring handled automatically. You just use your apps.
Infrastructure Architecture
Phased Infrastructure Rollout
Phase 1 (Launch): Single node in Orange County, CA with RAID Z3
Phase 2 (100 members): Add second geographically distinct node for redundancy
Phase 3 (As needed): Add additional nodes for full geographic distribution
Each location will host approximately 1,250 users for optimal load balancing and redundancy.

Governance & Decision Making
Members participate in shaping Skylantix through transparent voting and community discussion:
Charity Allocation Voting
Members vote on which organizations receive donations from our profit-sharing pool (EFF, Linux Foundation, etc.).
Feature Priority Polls
Community decides which new services get developed first (Django hosting, additional apps, etc.).
Mattermost Discussions
Open discussions on policies, infrastructure changes, and collective evolution. Your voice matters.
Transparent Reporting
Annual financial reports published. Members can see exactly how revenue is used and allocated.
Sustainability Model
Skylantix is designed for long-term sustainability, not explosive growth:
Fixed Costs, Stable Revenue
Hardware amortized over 3-5 years. $20/month × 5,000 members = predictable revenue for sustainable operations.
Admin Wages First
After operational costs, admins receive livable wages. All surplus beyond that is distributed to the community.
Community Reinvestment
50% of surplus profits reinvested in an endowment to help prices stay low long term. Members vote on priorities and can apply for grants/zero-interest loans.
Ecosystem Support
50% of surplus profits returned to the open-source community through donations to projects and organizations voted on by members.
